Lions tour commences!

Dudes, I am so excited I can't sleep! So I'm blogging instead!

The Lions, after a bit of a scare against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein, came back with guns blazing in the Shark Tank. The British and Irish Lions dominated a toothless Sharks team without many of their major stars, and the 39-3 final result is a fair reflection. Personally, I take a few things from the match:

1. Brian o'Driscoll might be a tad slower in his old age, but he is still a phenomenal rugby player and was the architect of a magnificent try late in the game. If I was a chick I'd totally do him.

2. The Lions are actually doing us a favour by playing so well. The Springboks have this tendency to play well, then totally buy into their own bullshit and go and lose games they should win (remember 1997?) So if the Lions really dominate, maybe our boys will accord the tourists the respect they deserve and not think we'll win just by showing up, because the Bulls had an awesome Super 14. One can dream...

3. But crikey, hold the presses. Next up is the unfathomably talented, the France of the southern hemisphere, the unpredictably delightful or disastrous Western Province. Harder to read than an irritable girlfriend, more capable of scoring than Sean Connery before final credits, more liable to screw it all up than George W giving a speech in Iraq.

Will they win? Will they lose? Will Luke Watson get sick? Will it rain the whole day?

The answers to these, and so many more exciting questions, will be answered very very shortly....

In the meantime, I meet my British, Irish, Welsh, Scottish supporters group tomorrow morning. Colour me excited! You betcha!!!

Check out the legendary 300 rip-off form 2007. It's a goodie...
