KUDUUUU.... Lions Tour Wrapup

What an amazing 3.5 weeks it has been. When the dust had settled, the results were tallied and all the debates were still raging, the final score said: Springboks 2 Lions 1. What an experience, for a while there I felt like I was on tour in the UK. Red shirts everywhere, Lions sing songs, rugby fanatics and heaps of controversy. Are the Springboks thugs? Are the Lions bad losers? Is our coach an idiot? Do Lions tours have a future? Are the Bokke up to the Tri-Nations? Has Chilliboy actually got the stuff?

While we hotly debated all these issues, and I stood as one man alone against a total onslaught of indignation between tests two and three, we managed to get in a few games of golf (the final one dramatically clinched by Gerry on Dainfern's 18th with a tough 4 metre putt), a game drive, a mandatory awesome steak at the Squire's Loft, a boma dinner or two, some gambling, a game of pool and some fussball at the Shebeen bar in Sun City.

It's been a great tour. From meeting and greeting the Beast, having Klippies with my boys, introducing the gang to Dom Pedros in the Spur, singalongs on the bus, in the bar, in the restaurant... a braai with Danie Gerber, the winning try in front of us at Loftus, seeing both Kurt and Theuns as a bonus, the great conversations with Mike and Mac, competitive Ernie (oops Jerry), the fury of Pete Walton, the class of the Heaslips, the support of John Doyle. I could go on and on, but suffice to say it's been awesome. Sheila Craft, I forgive ya, and Kerry... you have a job in travel with me anytime.

John Broad, my maid has asked for a raise. What's your rate?
