Get the Point?
5 reasons why you can't miss the Cape Point trip when you're in Cape Town:
- Where else can you see the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet (in fact, I'll point out the EXACT spot where they meet. No, really.)
- If you're lucky, you'll spot some of them really really cultured Chacma Baboons along the way. Our baboons have way more culture and style then their cousins elsewhere in the world. Which is why they're the like to feast on a scrumptuous seafood meal off the beach, enjoying their mussels and crayfish just as much as we do. That reminds me, whe should book a table at the Brass Bell on the way back... If you're really unlucky, you'll decide to roll down the window when we spot them, and the sneaky bugger will run off with your camera.
- The penguins. The waddle, they bray like donkeys (hence the name Jackass Penguins) and more often than not, we'll catch them doing it. The reason for this is that the female really really makes the male work for it, but once he's got her, they mate for life. See a mother feed her young! Watch a male dive off the rocks! Observe them sitting around looking formal!
- The view from Chapmans Peak. Breathtaking views! Sheer cliffs! Possible whale spottings! And you get to hear me brag about how I regularly cycle up here. Yeah, my life doesn't suck.
- Kirstenbosch Gardens. Dude, you have to see it to believe it. The highest concentration of floral species anywhere in the world, in the middle of the Western Cape Floral Kingdom, set against the backdrop of majestic Table Mountain... whew. Glad this is the last stop, a brisk tour of the grounds is all we've got time for, but you'll love it so much it's official. You're coming back for a summer concert.
Welcome to my life!
